Aussies 2020

18 April – 26 April 2020

The Australian Surf Life Saving Championships is an annual event where members from Australia’s 314 Surf Clubs come together to compete in more than 400 beach and ocean events. It is the largest event of its kind, only comparing the likes of the Commonwealth Games.

In 2020, we will be heading back to the Gold Coast, QLD. Our champion title holders will be defending their titles and our members and families will again be coming together to celebrate the community that is Surf Life Saving Australia.

The Cooly Classic

World Bowls Championships 2020

23 May – 7 June 2020

Queensland’s Gold Coast continues to entrench itself as the home of Bowls in Australia, with the 2020 World Championships to be held at three Gold Coast clubs. Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale will host the two-week long tournament, with over 240 bowlers expected to take part in one of the pinnacle international events in the sport.

SeaFire

12 June – 13 June 2020

Surfers Paradise becomes a playground of light, music and entertainment over two huge nights at SeaFire. SeaFire is a celebration of multi-culturalism in what is still Australia’s only international fireworks competition. Nations compete to take home the 2020 SeaFire Championship title, so expect to see dramatic, pioneering pyrotechnic displays fired off ocean barges and choreographed to musical soundtracks, lighting up ‘sea to sky’ over Surfers Paradise beach.

Gold Coast Marathon

Celebrate the 42nd edition of the Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon and run for the good times on Saturday 4 – Sunday 5 July 2020 on the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

The world class international marathon will attract 28,000 participants of all ages and abilities from over 50 countries across eight races including the Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon, Wheelchair Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, Wheelchair 15km, Southern Cross University 10km Run, Gold Coast Airport Fun Run, Garmin 4km Junior Dash and Garmin 2km Junior Dash.

The Coolangatta Gold is a course designed for the endurance surf sport competitor who is up for the Ultimate Challenge.

Over the weekend individuals and teams will compete in both a Short Course that stretches 21 kilometres and a Long Course which is a gruelling 41.8 kilometres along the breathtaking Gold Coast strip from Coolangatta to Broadbeach.

Come down and support these athletes as they are pushed to their limits in one of the most challenging endurance races in surf sports.
